How to choose your new furniture.
Start by thinking about the look or style you're after. Our dining range includes tables and cabinets in wood, metal, glass and even stone. Faux Leather is an increasingly popular option for bedsteads.
Here's a quick guide to the pros and cons of different materials.
Faux Leather
what is faux leather? Faux leather is a durable coated surface backed with Eco-friendly recycled leather fibres. Bonded for additional strength and durability, it feels great to the touch and offers great value for money.
It is man-made to match the texture, colour and feel of family friendly leathers like corrected grain. It's often combined with real leather to give you a great looking, high quality product at outstanding Homestore1.com value. In our product range faux leather is generally used in bed's, dining chairs and tub chairs and sofa's.
polyurethane chairs ( pu )
Like Faux Leather, polyurethane ( pu for short ) is used in some of our product's, Polyurethanes an incredibly resilient, flexible, and durable manufactured material that can take the place of paint, cotton, rubber, metal, and wood in thousands of applications across all fields. Polyurethane might be hard, like fiberglass, squishy like upholstery foam, protective like varnish, bouncy like rubber wheels, or sticky like glue. Since its invention in the 40s, polyurethane has been used in everything from baby toys to airplane wings, and continues to be adapted for contemporary technology.
Wooden furniture
Every piece of wooden furniture is unique, with different characteristics in colour, grain and durability. Cabinets can be made from softwoods such as pine or hardwoods like oak, ash, maple and teak. There are some woods, such as beech, that don't fall into either category, and also veneer type furniture.
Wooden furniture is affected by temperature and humidity. You should avoid placing solid wooden furniture, particularly oak, on under floor heating. If your room is very dry or very damp, it may be worth considering glass and metal or stone furniture.
